This is one of a series of pictures that Jon recently painted in Venice; an abstarcted view of one of the historic basins. "Excited by the colour of the buildings, I set out to create an abstracted sense of place and the movement within".
Whilst this reflects a reaction it is not like other paintings in this recent series, a representation; rather it is an evocation.
