Are You Listening?

This is one of a series of works that reflect my emotional responses to being in the the ancient city of Jerusalem. The jolt at seeing the most magnificent historic buildings, unchanging souks, and time-worn housing with the latest satellite dishes is indelibly painted in my mind. The demonstrative reaction has been to simplify the complexity of the urban environment and yet indicate the intrusion of the modern technology. There are many questions to be asked.
